[남상훈 기자 = 양구군] 오는 26일부터 12월 31일까지 양구군은 양구읍 5일장 건너편 박수근 광장에서 군민화합을 위한 ‘희망의 트리’의 불을 밝히는 점등식을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

점등식은 양구군 기독교연합회 주관으로 진행되며, 서흥원 양구군수와 박귀남 양구군의회 의장을 비롯한 각 기관단체장과 기독교 관계자 등 30여 명이 참석해 트리에 불을 밝히며 군민들에게 희망의 메시지를 전달할 예정이다.

한편, 희망의 트리 점등식은 종교적 의미를 떠나서 오랜 기간 코로나19로 지친 군민들에게 위로와 기쁨을 주고, 소통과 화합의 뜻을 나누며 한 해를 마무리하기 위해 기획한 행사다.

이명옥 관광문화과장은 “환하게 불을 밝힐 희망의 트리를 보면서 많은 사람들이 따뜻한 마음으로 소외된 어려운 이웃들을 살피고, 지역발전을 위한 군민화합의 의미를 되새기는 계기가 되기를 기원한다”라고 말했다.
