[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시는 망상해변에서 강원도 및 글로벌 로보틱스 전문 기업인 ‘디스이즈엔지니어링’과 협력하여, 지난 7월 28일부터 드론 음식 배송 서비스를 제공해 망상오토캠핑리조트, 망상해변한옥마을, 리조트 해수욕장 이용객들에게 색다른 경험과 편의를 제공하여 인기를 얻고 있다고 밝혔다.

관광객과 상점을 서로 연결하는 ‘자율비행 드론’을 활용해 국내 해수욕장 최초로 음식 배송 서비스를 제공하는 이번 사업은 오는 8월 28일까지 별도의 배달 비용 없이 무료로 운영된다.

최대 5㎏의 배송물을 싣고 40분을 운행할 수 있는 드론은 리조트 해수욕장 데크와 망상해변 상가 2곳에 설치된 ‘드론 배송존’에서 이착륙하며, 치킨, 피자, 빙수, 생선회 등이 주문 가능하며 현재 치킨이 가장 인기 품목으로 자리 잡았다.
