[김준호 기자 = 삼척시] 삼척시 미로면 활기리 마을이 행정안전부에서 주관하는 ‘2021년 산불에 강한 마을 가꾸기 사업’ 우수마을에 선정되어 지난 10월 19일 마을회관에서 현판 전달식을 가졌다. 

이날 미로면 활기리 마을에는 우수마을 현판과 함께 행정안전부 표창장 및 시상금 100만 원이 전달됐다.

‘산불에 강한 마을 가꾸기 사업’은 지역공동체(마을)가 자발적으로 산림인접지 인화물 제거·파쇄 및 교육, 훈련 등 산불 예방 사업에 직접 참여를 유도하기 위해 추진하는 사업이다.

삼척시는 지난해 2월 행정안전부 ‘산불에 강한 마을 가꾸기 공모사업’에 선정되어 국비 1억 원을 확보했었다. 시는 확보한 사업비로 지난해 미로면 활기리 마을에 인화물질제거를 위한 잔가지파쇄기 2대와 산불안전확보를 위한 CCTV 5개소(8대), 대형 소화기 20점, 가정용 소화기 50점, 그리고 산불인식개선을 위한 산불전광판 1개, 자율진화대 운영을 지원하였다.

우수마을 선정은 지난 8월~9월 행안부와 한국산불방지기술협회가 사업추진 완성도, 주민참여도, 사후관리체계 등에 대하여 평가하였으며, 활기리는 산불예방과 대비 활동에 이바지한 공으로 2021년 추진 전국 10개 마을 중 우수마을에 선정됐다.

한편, 올해는 가곡면 덕풍계곡마을이 산불에 강한 마을 가꾸기 공모사업에 선정되어 국비 1억 원을 확보하여 사업을 추진 중에 있다.
