[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 횡성군이 유해야생동물로 인한 농작물 피해를 줄이기 위해 '2022년 피해예방시설 설치지원 사업'을 추진한다고 밝혔다. 

군은 지난해 36농가에 7,100만원을 지원했으며, 올해는 7,500만원을 지원할 계획이며, 지원대상은 횡성군 내 소재한 경작지를 경영하는 농업인이나 임업인이고, 최근 5년간 피해예방시설 보조사업에 대해 지원을 받지 않은 농가 및 매년 반복적으로 피해가 발생하는 농가 등을 우선순위로 지원할 계획이라고 전했다.

한편 울타리 설치 업체는 농가에서 자율적으로 선정하는 방식이며, 능형 철망울타리와 전기울타리 설치시 설치비용의 60%를 지원하고, 농가당 최대 400만원까지 지원된다고 했다. 

야생동물 피해예방시설 설치가 필요한 농가는 지난 2월 7일부터 오는 18일까지, 2주간 경작지 소재 읍·면 행정복지센터에서 설치지원 사업 신청을 하면 된다고 전했다.

심승보 환경과장은 “야생동물 피해예방시설의 효과를 높이고 농작물 피해를 최소화하기 위해 파종기와 생육기 이전에 설치를 완료할 수 있도록 본 사업을 신속히 추진하겠다. 전기울타리의 경우 목책선 주변 잡초 제거 등 농가의 사후 관리에 만전을 기하여 줄 것을 당부한다.”고 말했다.
