[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 횡성군이 유해야생동물로 인한 농작물 및 인명피해를 예방하기 위해 '2022년 수확기 유해야생동물 피해방지단'을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

피해방지단은 농작물 피해 신고 접수 시 구제 활동 및 기타 야생동물로 인한 인명피해 우려 시 긴급출동 등의 활동을 하게 되며, 오는 4월부터 11월까지 30명 이내로 운영할 예정이라고 전했다. 

이를 위해 군은 지난 7일부터 오는 11일까지 피해방지단원을 모집하고, 자격조건은 횡성군 실거주, 수렵경력, 수렵면허증, 총포소지허가증 소지 여부를 충족하는 전문 엽사로 최근 5년 이내 '야생생물 보호 및 관리에 관한 법률' 및 '총포‧도검‧화약류 등 안전관리에 관한 법률'을 위반하여 처분을 받지 아니한 사람이여야 가능하며, 자세한 사항은 횡성군 홈페이지를 참고하면 되고, 신청 접수는 횡성군청 환경과 환경정책팀으로 하면 된다고 했다. 

심승보 환경과장은 “야생동물 피해 최소화를 위해 전문적이고 경험이 풍부한 엽사들로 피해방지단을 구성하여, 피해발생 시 신속한 출동과 함께 농작물 피해 예방에 만전을 기하겠다. 특히 총기 및 포획도구 사용에 대한 안전 교육을 주기적으로 실시하여 주민들의 불안감을 최소화하겠다.”고 하였다.

한편 횡성군은 지난해 고라니 1,700마리, 멧돼지 593마리를 포획하였다고 밝혔다.
