[김준호 기자=삼척시] 삼척시(박상수 시장)가 유해야생동물(멧돼지, 고라니 등)에 의한 시민안전과 안정적인 농업경영을 지원하기 위해 인명피해와 농작물 피해를 입은 시민에게 피해 일부를 보상하는 사업을 추진한다.

시에 따르면, 인명피해의 경우 삼척시민 대상으로  연중 주소지 읍․면․동 행정복지센터에서 피해보상 신청이 가능하며, 신체상해 시 최대 500만 원, 사망 시 최대 1,000만 원이며, 농작물 피해의 경우 지원대상은 피해 작물을 관내에서 직접 경작하는 자이며 농작물 피해 시 최대 500만 원을 지급한다는 방침이다.

하지만, 입산 금지구역에 무단으로 입산하여 피해를 입은 경우나 야생생물을 불법 포획, 채취 목적으로 입산하여 피해를 입은 경우에는 지원대상에서 제외된다.
