[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부] 7월부터 11월말까지 가평군은 유해야생동물에 의한 농작물 등의 피해를 줄이기 위하여 수확기 피해방지단을 구성하여 운영 할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

피해방지단은 공개 모집을 통해 모범엽사 30명으로 구성하였으며 권역별로 3개조(조별10명)로 나누어 관내 농작물 피해 발생 시 대리포획 활동을 하게 된다고 했다.

지난 7월 1일부터 수확기에 접어들어 유해야생동물로 인하여 농작물의 피해를 입은 농가에서 군청 환경과에 피해사항을 접수하면 즉시 문자로 해당지역 피해방지단원에게 통보한 후 현장 확인을 통해 포획활동을 벌인다고 했다.

지난 7월 1일 가평군은 피해방지단원들을 대상으로 포획활동에 따른 준수사항과 안전사고 예방교육을 실시하였다고 전했다.

가평군 관계자는“군은 매년 피해방지단을 운영하여 유해야생동물의 개체수를 줄이고 있으며, 앞으로도 농가의 피해를 줄이기 위해 다각적인 대책을 모색하는 등 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 지난해에는 유해야생동물 피해 신고가 382여건으로 유해야생동물 4,904마리(멧돼지 2,553마리와 고라니 829마리, 조류1,522)를 포획하는 성과를 거두었다고 밝혔다.
