[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 30일 의정부시는 산업통상자원부가 지원하고 한국산업단지공단이 주관한 '산업단지 복합문화센터 건립 공모사업'에 의정부시 용현산업단지가 사업지로 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

이로써 국비 20억 지원이 확정되어 지방비 등 총 42억원을 투입해 용현산업단지 내 소재한 의정부시 중소기업지원센터의 증축을 통해 복합문화센터 건립을 추진할 계획이라고 했다.

의정부시에서 유일한 산업단지인 용현산업단지는 완공된 지 20년이 경과됨에 따라 새로운 패러다임으로의 전환을 위한 발전모델이 필요했다고 전했다. 

이를 위해 의정부시는 용현산업단지 중장기 발전전략 계획 수립 용역을 통해 다양한 발전 모형을 개발하였으며 그 일환으로 산업단지공단 내 정주여건 개선을 통해 용현산업단지 기업인과 근로자, 주민들의 함께 웃고 배우고 즐길 수 있는 힐링공간을 조성하기 위해 산업단지 복합문화센터 건립사업 공모에 참여했다고 했다.

현재 용현산업단지 내 소재한 의정부시 중소기업지원센터는 지하 1층 ~ 지상 1층 연면적 1천475㎡의 단층으로 의정부시 중소기업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 지원을 위해 설치된 건물이며, 이번 복합문화센터 건립을 통한 2층 증축으로 1층의 경우 다목적실, 체력단련실, 활력충전실, 작은 도서관, 카페, 감상실 등 힐링 공간과 편의시설을 갖출 예정이라고 했다. 

또한 2층은 기존 1층에 배치되었던 창업지원센터 및 기업인 상담실과 평생교육장 및 창업지원센터를 2층으로 재배치하고 브랜드 홍보관, 기업인 상담실, 화상회의 장비실 등을 추가 설치하여 산업중심센터로 변모할 계획이다. 이에 따라 의정부시 기업과 근로자, 지역주민들이 함께 향유 할 수 있는 문화·교육·휴식공간을한자리에 조성할 수 있게 됐다고 했다.
