[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 7월 27일 07:00경 김동근 의정부시장은 이른 아침에도 불구하고 중랑천 산책로와 체육시설 등을 이용하는 시민들의 의견을 직접 듣기 위하여 현장으로 달려갔다고 밝혔다.

이날 김동근 의정부시장은 중랑천 인도교 ~ 부용천 합류부까지 약 2.5km의 달하는 거리를 걸으며 중랑천 산책로와 체육시설을 이용하는 시민들의 불편사항을 직접 듣고 점검했다.

이는 취임 이후 항상 강조하는 우문현답(현장에 답이 있다)의 실천과 민선 8기 시정 방침인 ‘소통’을 구체화하기 위한 것으로 보이며 선거 당시 ‘시민의 삶을 바꾸는 시장’이 되겠다는 공약을 한 만큼 이를 이행하기 위해 김동근 의정부시장은 현장을 직접 발로 뛰며 민원인들을 직접 만나는 등 현장 소통 정책을 지속적으로 펼칠 계획이라고 전했다.
