[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도는 현재 일시적으로 해소·완화된 폭염이 7월 하순 장마 종료 이후 다시 심각해질 것으로 예측됨에 따라 도민들에게 피해 예방을 위해 3대 행동요령*을 지켜줄 것을 당부했다.

강원도는 여름철 폭염 피해로부터 도민을 보호하기 위해 지난 5월 20일부터 오는 9월 30일까지를 폭염대책기간으로 지정·운영하고 있으며, 폭염 특보 발효 시 주무부서인 재난대응과를 포함한 8개 분야 12개 부서*로 구성된 폭염대응 T/F를 가동하여 종합 대책을 추진한다. 

 

향후 폭염이 장기화·심각화 될 때는 T/F를 재난안전대책본부로 격상해 운영할 계획이다.

특히, 7월 20일에는 강릉시를 방문해 중앙시장 일원에서 폭염 대응 홍보 가두 캠페인을 개최했다. 

 

이번 캠페인은 도와 강릉시, 강릉시 자율방재단 20여명이 참석하여 추첨 및 퀴즈 등 이벤트를 통해 폭염저감물품을 배부하고 행동요령을 홍보했다.

 

강원도 박동주 재난안전실장은 "올해 극심한 폭염으로 피해가 우려되니, 어린이나 고령자 등 취약계층은 한낮 야외활동을 자제하시고, 논밭이나 야외 작업장 근로자는 짧게 자주 휴식시간을 가지시는 등 안전수칙을 지키시어 안전하고 시원한 여름을 나시길 바란다"고 말했다.
