[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 폭염에 취약한 고위험 대상자를 발굴하고 온열질환을 사전에 예방하기 위하여 「취약계층 폭염 보호대책」을 수립하고 7월부터 9월까지 폭염 취약계층 대상으로 가구방문 실시 및 발굴된 110여 가구에 냉방 생활용품을 지원한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 여름은 기록적인 폭염과 무더위가 예상된다는 기상예보에 따라 독거노인 등 건강 취약계층의 안전이 매우 우려되고 있어 동 주민센터에서는 방문간호사 등 인적안전망을 활용하여 고위험 대상자의 가구방문을 적극 실시하고 혹서기 건강 안전 교육 등을 안내하여 취약계층의 온열질환 예방에 최선을 다할 예정이다. 

한편, 민선 8기를 맞이하여 이병선 시장은 11일 일부 고위험 가구에 직접 방문하여 독거노인 등 취약계층이 혹서기에 어려움을 겪지 않도록 생활 실태를 확인하고 애로사항을 청취했다. 

이병선 시장은 이번 폭염 보호대책과 관련하여“혹서기 취약계층의 건강관리를 최우선으로 실시하여 폭염으로 인한 피해를 받지 않도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
