[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군은 7월 중 2회에 걸쳐 불법튜닝 자동차에 대한 일제단속을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 단속은 불법튜닝 자동차로 인한 교통안전 저해 예방과 자동차 운행질서 확립을 위해 가평군청․가평경찰서․한국교통안전공단 3개 기관이 합동으로 단속에 참여했다고 했다.  

주요 단속사항은 국토교통부령으로 정한 자동차의 구조 및 장치의 임의 변경사항 전반이었으며, 특히 도로상에서 야간 차량운전자들의 시야를 방해하는 자동차의 등화장치 임의 설치, 화물자동차 적재장치 변경 등을 집중 단속했다고 했다.

단속결과 총 18건을 적발하였으며 트럭 뒷문짝 임의탈거 및 화물 적재함 판스프링 설치 등 2건은 형사처벌 대상으로 경찰서에 이첩했고, 번호판 봉인 파손 등 경미한 사항 10건에 대하여 과태료 부과는 보류하고 우선 차량소유자들이 자진원상복구 하도록 안내했으며, 나머지 6건은 차량의 사용본거지가 타 자치단체에 속해 단속사실을 해당 기관에 이송했다고 했다.

교통과장 장석조는 앞으로도 연말까지 수시로 관계기관 합동 점검을 통해 불법튜닝 자동차에 대한 일제단속을 실시하여 운전자들의 안전한 차량관리에 경각심을 고취하겠다고 밝혔다.
