[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 교통문화 향상을 위해 매년 국토교통부 주관으로 실시하는 교통문화지수 실태조사 평가 우수 지자체에 대한 시상식이 지난 27일 한국교통안전공단에서 개최됐다고 밝혔다.

이날, 원주시는 인구 30만 이상 시 중 1위로 선정되어 국토교통부 장관상을 수상했으며, 교통문화지수 실태조사에서 3년 연속(2019~2021) 1위라는 대기록을 달성했다고 전했다.

이길복 교통행정과장은“원주시가 3년 연속 1위를 달성한 것은 시민들의 성숙된 교통문화 의식 덕분이다”라고 전하며, “앞으로도 보행환경 개선 및 교통안전 시설물 확충 등 더욱 안전한 교통환경을 만드는데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
