[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 북부지방산림청이 봄철 대형산불특별대책기간 산불예방을 위한 7개의 ‘산림드론 감시단’ 운용하고 있으며 감시단은 현재까지 57명에게 과태료 670여만원을 부과하는 등 산불 발생을 사전 차단하는데 큰 역할을 했다고 밝혔다.

산림드론 감시단은 서울, 경기, 강원영서지역을 대상으로 산불예방 감시활동, 야간산불 진행 상황 파악, 산림내 불법행위, 무단입산 행위 등을 집중 감시 및 단속했으며, 오는 5월까지 산나물 등 불법 임산물 채취 등 산림피해를 근절하기 위해 ‘불법행위 산림드론 감시단’을 집중 운영하여 산림사범수사대와 합동 단속을 실시하는 등 산불예방 등 산림보호 전반에 걸쳐 운영할 방침이다.

임하수 북부지방산림청장은 “산림 드론 등 첨단 ICT 기술을 활용하여 산불예방 및 대응에 신속하고 효율적인 업무 수행을 위해 노력하고 있으며, 산림내 불법행위 단속 및 산사태, 산림 병해충 예찰 등에도 적극 활용하여 산불 및 각종 재해, 재난으로부터 국민의 재산과 생명보호에 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
