[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 2일 양주시 광적면은 양주시 육군 8기동사단 조성민 상사가 관내 취약계층을 위한 쌀 10kg 3포, 라면 3박스를 기부했다고 밝혔다.

조성민 상사는 매년 소외된 이웃을 위해 목욕봉사, 연탄 나눔, 청소 봉사 등 다양한 사회공헌 봉사활동에 참여하고 있으며, 어린이재단에 매달 꾸준히 후원을 하며 선한 영향력을 전파하고 있다고 했다.

이날 기부된 쌀과 라면은 조성민 상사가 소년소녀가정, 독거노인가정, 장애인가정 등 총 3가구를 방문하여 직접 전달했다고 전했다.

조성민 상사는 “군인이라는 신분으로 어려운 이웃을 돌보는 것은 당연한 사명감이며 따뜻한 온정은 나눌 수 있어 진심으로 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 소외계층을 살피는 봉사활동에 적극적으로 동참하겠다”고 전했다.
