[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지난 8월 1일, 월례조회에서 한·미 우호 증진에 기여하고 다양한 봉사활동에 적극적으로 참여 독려 하는 미2사단 210포병여단 여단장 Germann, Wade에게 동두천시 명예시민증서와 표창장을 수여했다고 밝혔다.

미2사단 210포병여단 여단장은 지난 2021년에 동두천시로 부임한 이래 사)동두천시종합자원봉사센터와 협력하여 한·미영어마을, 환경정화활동, 취약계층을 위한 연탄배달, 김장나눔, 지역아동센터 방문 지원 등 좋은 이웃만들기 프로그램 운영을 통해 미군 장병들이 다양한 지역 봉사활동에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 독려하는 등 남다른 리더십과 책임감으로 한미우호 증진에 기여하고 있다.
