[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시는 코로나19 여파에 따른 농번기 일손 부족 현상을 해소하기 위해 농촌일손돕기 지원창구를 운영한다고 밝혔다.

농촌일손돕기 지원창구는 오는 4월 21일 농정과 및 읍면동 행정복지센터에 각각 설치되며, 일손 부족 농가와 자원봉사자의 연계 업무를 추진하고 또한, 시는 시청 각 부서와 혁신도시 내 공공기관에 농촌일손돕기 봉사활동 참여를 요청해 농업인력을 확보하고 있다고 전했다.

현재 농촌지역에서 농업 활동이 본격적으로 시작되면서 밭에서는 고구마·옥수수 정식, 과수에서는 적과 작업 및 봉지 싸기, 논에서는 모판 나르기·모잇기 등에 많은 인력이 필요할 것으로 파악하고 있다고 했다.

허관선 농정과장은 “농정과에서는 4월말 전직원이 참여하는 농촌일손돕기를 추진할 계획이다.”라며, “고령농업인과 여성농업인 등 일손을 구하기 어려운 농가를 대상으로 우선 지원하도록 하겠다.”라고 말했다.
