이번 사업은 지역사회보장협의체의 마을복지사업 일환으로 실시한 것으로 대상가구는 협의체 위원들이 직접 발굴한 거동이 불편한 80대 어르신과 장애인 아들, 어린 증손녀 2명이 함께 살고 있는 기초생활수급 가정이고, 협의체 위원들은 구슬땀을 흘리며 도배가 용이하도록 가재도구 등 짐을 옮겼으며 인테리어 전문 업체와 함께 도배, 지붕처마 내벽을 수리한 후 묵은 먼지청소와 뒷정리까지 마무리했다고 했다.

주거개선 지원을 받은 어르신은 “도배한지 20년이 넘었고 곰팡이까지 생겼는데 몸도 성치않고 경제적 여유가 없어서 엄두가 나지 않았는데 덕분에 새집처럼 변했고 감사하다”고 전했다.
