[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난달 30일 동두천시 중앙동 새마을협의회는 건강한 지역사회 형성을 위해 마을 곳곳 방역활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.  

중앙동 새마을협의회는 늦가을 매개모기 예방뿐만 아니라 장기화되고 있는 코로나19 확산 저지를 위해서 8월부터 매주 1회씩 새마을협의회 회원들과 힘을 모아 방역을 추진하고 있으며, 주민들에게도 높은 호응을 얻고 있다고 했다.  

차유철 새마을협의회장은 “주민들의 건강과 지역의 안전을 위해서 방역을 실시하여 건강한 중앙동을 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

이춘우 중앙동장은 “바쁜 와중에 시간을 내어 주민을 위해 방역에 힘써주신 새마을협의회 회원들에게 감사드린다. 앞으로도 적극적인 방역활동으로 지역 내 안전에 만전을 기하겠다”고 밝혔다.
