[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 4일 (사)양주시자원봉사센터는 경기섬유종합지원센터에서 2021 양주시 사랑의 희망박스 전달식을 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사를 위해 ㈜고려진공안전과 NGO 굿피플에서 햇반, 고추장, 컵밥 등 20종 30개의 생필품으로 구성된 10만원 상당의 희망박스 1,000박스를 후원했고, 희망박스는 관내 11개 읍·면·동에 거주하는 독거노인 등 도움을 필요로 하는 저소득 취약계층에 전달됐다고 했다.

김광자 대표는 “코로나19로 2년째 의료 봉사를 못 해서 아쉬운 마음이 크다”며 “우리 이웃분들이 희망박스를 받고 위로와 힘이 되었으면 좋겠다”고 말했다.

최경배 회장은 “코로나19 장기화에 모두가 어려운 시기지만 양주시와 고려진공안전과 함께 어르신들을 위한 전달식을 할 수 있어서 뿌듯하다”며 “작은 정성이 양주시에 계시는 어르신들에게 조금이나마 도움이 되었으면 좋겠다“고 말했다.

센터 관계자는 “관내 저소득 어르신들을 위해 나눔실천을 해주신 ㈜고려진공안전, 굿피플 관계자분들에게 감사드린다”며 “작년과 올해는 어르신들과 함께하지 못했지만, 모두의 따듯한 마음이 전달될 수 있도록 잘 전달해 드리겠으며 내년에는 코로나19가 종식되어 즐거운 의료나눔축제를 함께 만들어가기를 바란다”고 전했다.

한편 (사)양주시자원봉사센터는 매년 양주시와 ㈜고려진공안전, NGO 굿피플과 연계해 관내 65세 이상 어르신을 대상으로 사랑의 의료나눔 축제를 운영해왔으나 지난해 발생한 코로나19 사태로 행사를 축소, 관내 저소득층의 따뜻한 겨울나기를 지원하는 희망박스 전달식으로 전환해 나눔을 이어가고 있다고 밝혔다.
