[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 28일 (사)양주시자원봉사센터는 1기 아름드리가족봉사단과 자원봉사자들이 고구마 5kg 100박스를 전달했다고 밝혔다.

기부받은 고구마는 지난 5월 가족봉사단연합이 심고 지난 17일 가족봉사단연합과 회천의용여성소방대원 등 40여 명의 자원봉사자들이 수확한 것으로 무한돌봄희망센터를 비롯한 사회복지기관을 통해 어려운 이웃들에게 전달할 예정이라고 했다.

이번 행사에는 부모님과 함께 참여한 최연소 7살 봉사자부터 20여 년 넘게 봉사활동을 지속적으로 해온 봉사자까지 다양한 세대가 수확의 보람과 나눔의 기쁨을 누리며 이웃사랑을 실천했다고 전했다.

봉사에 참여한 봉사자는 “봉사활동에 오랜만에 참여할 수 있게 되어 보람이 있었고 받으시는 분들이 맛있게 드셔주었으면 좋겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

이동섭 단장은 “올해에도 가족봉사단들과 자원봉사자들 덕분에 튼실한 고구마를 많이 수확하게 되었다”며 “코로나19로 지쳐있는 이웃들에게 힘이 되기를 바란다”고 전했다.

자원봉사센터 관계자는 “취약계층을 응원하는 마음을 가득 담아 구슬땀을 흘리며 봉사자들이 수확한 고구마로 따뜻하고 든든한 겨울을 맞이하길 바란다”며 “갑자기 찾아온 한파에도 기꺼이 참여해주신 봉사자분들에게 감사드리며 봉사자분들의 마음이 담긴 다양한 활동으로 이웃들에게 희망을 드릴 수 있도록 항상 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
