[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시 회천4동은 회천4동 통장협의회에서 이웃과 행복한 동행을 위한 따뜻한 봉사활동을 이어가고 있다고 전했다.

회천4동 통장협의회는 사랑의 온기담은 반찬 배달, 작고 소중한 야생조류 지키기, 코로나19 함께 이겨내기 등 활발한 나눔 활동을 진행해 오고 있다고 했다.

‘사랑의 온기담은 반찬 배달’은 그동안 급식을 제공 받던 취약계층이 코로나19로 더욱 어려움을 겪게 되자 경기도 자원봉사센터의 지원을 받아 통장들이 독거노인과 저소득층 등 25가구를 직접 방문하여 월 2회씩 반찬 꾸러미를 전달하며 돌봄을 몸소 실천했다고 전했다.

반찬 꾸러미를 지원받은 어르신은 “코로나19로 외로운 시기에 반갑기도 하고 번거로울 텐데 직접 찾아와 배달해주시는 통장님들께 항상 감사하다”고 전했다.

또한, 협의회는 양주시자원봉사센터와 함께 야생조류 생명지킴이 활동인 ‘작고 소중한 야생조류 지키기’를 통해 옥정동 일대 5곳에서 150여명의 봉사자와 투명유리 방음벽에 조류충돌 방지 스티커 부착, 충돌한 야생조류 모니터링 등의 활동을 진행하고 있다고 밝혔다.

활동에 참여한 봉사자는 “환경과 공존하는 생명사랑활동인 버드세이버 활동에 참여하여 기쁘며, 앞으로도 적극 참여하겠다”고 말했다.

이외에도 협의회는 ‘코로나19 함께 이겨내기’를 통해 코로나19 백신접종센터에서 총 2회에 걸쳐 만 75세 이상 예방 접종자를 위한 이동보조, 문진표 작성 보조 등 자원봉사활동을 진행했다고 전했다.

임태빈 협의회장은 “봉사활동에 적극 협조해주신 통장님들께 감사하다”며, “코로나19로 어려움을 겪는 이웃들과 함께 함께하는 회천4동이 되도록 봉사활동은 계속해 나갈 것이다”라고 말했다.
