[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시 구문소동행정복지센터(동장 이노민)은 10일 구문소동 주민봉사작업장에서 어르신들을 모시고  ‘2022년 홀몸어르신 반려식물 지원사업 작품 전시회’를 열었다고 밝혔다.

이 날 전시회는 올 한 해 홀몸 어르신들의 원예 창작활동 결과물인 문예 작품과 반려식물 화분 등을 전시하고 사업 결과 보고, 활동 동영상 상영, 내년 사업 추진 방향 안내 등의 순으로 진행됐다.

참여 어르신 분은 “반려식물을 직접 심고 가꾸는 원예활동을 통해 몸과 마음이 건강해져 삶의 활력은 물론 성취감과 자신감이 생겼다”고 말했다.

한편, 구문소동행정복지센터에서는 2020년부터 반려식물을 추진해왔으며 독거 어르신을 직접 방문해 원예지식을 전달하며 정서적 유대감을 형성하는 등 우울감과 정서적 고독감을 해소하는 등 홀몸 어르신들에게 큰 호응을 얻었다.
