[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 26일 (사)양주시자원봉사센터는 양주시상록자원봉사단과 함께 ‘2022 양주시 사랑의 연탄나눔 봉사’를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사랑의 연탄 나눔 활동은 설맞이 자원봉사 집중 주간을 맞아 관내 어려운 이웃에게 따뜻한 마음을 전하고자 마련됐으며, 회원들이 적립한 회비로 준비한 연탄으로 진행했다고 전했다.

이날 봉사단 회원 12명이 참석해 양주 2동에 2가구, 백석에 1가구를 추천받아 각 가구에 300장씩 70만 원 상당의 연탄 총 900장을 전달했다고 했다.

신대수 단장은 “상록자원봉사단의 첫 활동으로 난방이 어려운 이웃분들에게 따뜻한 명절을 전달한 것 같아 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 주변에 도움이 필요한 분들에게 위로와 따뜻함을 드릴 수 있도록 꾸준히 봉사활동을 하겠다”고 말했다. 

양주시자원봉사센터 관계자는 “계속되는 추위로 연탄을 필요로 하시는 이웃분들을 위해 후원과 봉사로 사랑을 나눠주시는 상록자원봉사단 회원분들에게 감사드린다 ”며 “앞으로도 센터와 함께 이웃들을 위한 지속적인 관심과 봉사활동을 함께 하기를 바란다 ”고 전했다. 

양주시상록자원봉사단은 2019년 발대식으로 시작해 양주시 퇴직 공무원으로 구성된 자원봉사단체로, 복지시설에 재능 나눔, 코로나19 방역활동, 환경정화 캠페인 등 다양한 활동을 하며 도움의 손길이 필요한 곳에 적극적으로 앞장서고 있다고 밝혔다.
