이번 행사는 코로나19로 인해 어르신들의 모임이나 행사는 없지만 각 경로당 회장을 대표로 만나 지역 어르신의 건강과 안부를 전달과 함께 코로나19 백신 접종계획 등을 안내하며 존경과 감사의 마음을 전달했고 특히, 전달된 카네이션 카드는 지역아동센터 아동들이 정성스럽게 직접 만든 것으로 의미를 더했다고 전했다.

이정자 회장은 “경로당 이용이나 어르신의 모임에 제한돼 있지만, 코로나19 백신 접종계획을 듣고 한결 마음이 편해졌다”며 “코로나19 장기화로 우울한 어르신들이 많은데 카네이션 카드를 보고 큰 위로가 될 거 같아 지역아동센터 어린이들에게 정말 감사하다”고 말했다.

홍미영 동장은 “예전 같았으면 동네마다 경로잔치도 열고 한 분 한 분 찾아봬 안부를 여쭙고 싶은데 코로나19로 인해 만남의 기회가 줄어들어 너무나 아쉽다”며 “코로나19 백신 접종계획이 원활히 이뤄질 수 있도록 만전을 기하는 등 어르신들의 평범한 일상을 하루빨리 되찾을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
