[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청과 지상작전사령부가 산림보호와 산림재해예방을 위한 업무협약을 18일 체결했다.

양 기관은 협약을 통해 경기·강원영서·민북지역의 산림보호와 재해예방을 위해 상호 간 적극적으로 협력하고 발전해 나갈 예정이다.  

또한, 산림재해 예방공사 관련 공동조사단 운영, 산사태 취약지역에 사방사업 확대, 산사태 위험지도 작성, 군 사격장 산불발생 방지활동 및 대책 마련, 산림사업 및 산림보호 등을 위한 군부지 활용 협조 등에 대한 협력도 약속했다.

이번 협약으로 산불과 산사태 등으로 인한 군 시설의 재난 예방은 물론 군지역 산림훼손지에 대한 생태계 복원을 통해 보전정책 추진속도가 가속화할 것으로 기대된다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “이번 협력관계 구축을 통해 재해예방과 더불어 군 지역 산림훼손지 생태복원을 통한 생태적 가치 증진이라는 일석이조의 효과를 거둘 것”이라고 말하며, “협력사업은 일회성이 아닌 중·장기적인 사업으로 발전시켜 나가겠다.”라고 덧붙였다.
