[안종욱 기자= 경기북부/강원] 지난해 10월, 가평군은 가평군 장사시설 건립추진 군민제안사업을 공모하였으나 신청마감 결과 제안사업을 신청한 곳은 없었다고 밝혔다.   

이후 가평군은 가평군 장사시설 건립추진 자문위원회의 의견에 따라 종합장사시설 건립추진은 별도의 공모절차(기간제한)없이 종합장사시설 유치를 희망하는 마을이 주민동의를 받아 사업신청서를 제출 할 경우 해당마을과 협의하는 방식으로 전환하여 추진하고 있다고 전했다. 

가평군은 장사시설 건립추진 군민 자율제안사업과 별도로 2022년 5월부터 친자연적 장례문화 인식개선 교육 등 수요조사를 실시하여 읍·면별 선진장례문화 순회교육을 실시할 계획이며, 유치희망마을에 선진 종합장사시설 견학과 마을역량강화 교육 등을 지원할 계획이고, 이는 종합장사시설의 추진에 있어 가장 중요한 요소인 유치지역 마을주민의 의견을 듣고 장사시설에 대한 부정적인 인식을 개선하여 주민 동의율 제고하기 위한 것으로서, 현재 해당 마을과 추진 시기 및 방법 등을 협의하고 있다고 했다.

앞으로도 가평군은 종합장사시설 건립을 위해 유치를 희망하는 마을주민의 의견을 충분히 반영하고 민원을 최소화하여 사업을 추진할 계획이며, 장사시설 유치지역에는 충분한 보상과 사업추진을 위한 절차를 적극 지원할 예정이라고 전했다. 

김성기 군수는 “군민의 다수가 종합장사시설 건립사업에 찬성하고 있다”며, “다수의 군민이 원하는 종합장사시설 건립을 위해 유치희망지역 마을 주민의 의사를 존중하며 사업을 추진할 계획이며, 가평군민과 가평군을 위해 임기 마지막까지 종합장사시설 건립을 위해 최선을 다할 것.”이라고 말했다.
