[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시 불현동 주민자치위원회는 지난 7월 7일, 1박 2일 일정으로 주민자치 역량강화 워크숍을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 워크숍은 태안군 원북면 주민자치센터를 견학하여 원북면 주민자치회에서 운영하는 다양한 사업과 우수사례를 청취하고, 지역 우수 관광 명소를 방문하고 이를 시에 접목하는 방안을 연구하는 순서로 진행됐다. 

특히, 주민자치위원들은 원북면 주민자치회에서 추진해 온 옥파 국화축제 등 사업 진행과 관련한 애로사항과 주민총회를 통한 의견수렴과정에 대해 자세히 질의하는 등 깊은 관심을 보였다. 

이번 워크숍을 추진한 이상재 주민자치위원장은 “이번 견학으로 타 시·군의 주민자치 우수사례를 자세히 알아보고, 도입이 필요한 부분은 불현동 주민자치위원회 운영 시 적극 반영하며, 앞으로도 지속적인 타 시·군과의 교류, 위원 교육 등을 통해 성숙한 주민자치를 구현할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 소감을 전했다.
