[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 14일 홍천군 영귀미면 노천초등학교 4학년생 13명은 태학정수장과 홍천공공하수처리시설을 견학했다고 전했다.

현장견학을 통해 학생들은 수돗물의 생산과 하수·오수 정화 등 물의 순환과정을 직접 눈으로 확인했으며 특히 상하수도사업소는 현장견학과 함께 정수처리와 하수처리 과정에 대한 영상교육도 병행, 수질관리의 중요성에 대한 학생들의 이해도를 높였다고 했다.

최용건 홍천군 상하수도사업소장은 “이번 견학을 통해 자라나는 아이들이 깨끗한 물의 소중함과 지역 환경기초시설의 중요성을 느낄 수 있는 좋은 경험이 되었기를 바란다”고 말했다. 

한편 홍천읍 태학정수장에서는 연평균 하루 1만 7,762t의 깨끗한 수돗물을 홍천읍 등 5개 읍·면에 공급하고 있으며 북방면에 위치한 홍천공공하수처리시설에서는 홍천읍과 북방면 일대에서 발생한 연평균 하루 1만 2,742t의 하수를 처리하고 있다고 밝혔다.
