[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 27일 의정부시 가능동은 통장협의회, 공무원 등 50여 명 이 참여한 가운데 도로변 화분 정리와 제초작업을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

지난 9월 초 자생단체와 함께 신촌건널목, 신촌교차로 일대, 의여중·고 후문 및 주문센터 앞에 배치된 원형화분 60여 개에 국화 약 200본을 식재했으며, 그간 일교차가 심해져 잎이 검게 변한 국화 꽃잎을 정리하고 의정부공고 후문 벽화 및 화단 주변 잡초들을 함께 제거했다고 했다.

코로나19 확진자의 지속적인 발생으로 사회적거리두기 4단계가 시행되고 있어 이번 환경정비는 방역 지침을 준수하여 구역별로 4개조를 편성하여 시행했다고 전했다. 

홍승의 가능동장은 “이른 아침부터 환경 정화활동에 참여해주신 통장님들께 감사드리며, 앞으로도 자생단체와 함께 지속적인 도시환경 개선활동을 전개하여 주민들의 생활에 불편함이 없도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
