[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 5일 동두천시는 너나들이 공동체에서 연탄은행과 연계해 광암동 소재 취약계층 8가구에 연탄 4천장을 배달했다고 밝혔다.

이날 봉사에는 동두천 중앙감리교회 청년회, 양주 예향교회 Into 청년 및 청소년 등 총 60명이 참여했으며, 이들은 방역수칙을 철저하게 지키면서 가파른 언덕과 좁은 골목길을 누비며 집집마다 연탄을 차곡차곡 쌓아올렸다고 했다.

너나들이 공동체 박수형 대표는 “지속되는 코로나로 인해 연탄 후원과 배달봉사자가 줄어 연탄을 사용하는 분들이 어려움을 겪고 있다는 얘기를 듣고 지역 청년들과 봉사활동을 실천하게 됐다. 영하의 추운날씨지만 함께 뜻을 모아준 봉사자들에게 감사드리며, 연탄을 받으시는 분들이 따뜻한 겨울을 보내셨으면 좋겠다.”고 전했다.

한편 너나들이 공동체는 지역 청년들로 구성된 봉사단체로 연탄배달 봉사, 환경정화 활동 등 지역사회 나눔과 봉사에 적극적으로 참여하고 있다고 밝혔다.
