[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 평창군이 농촌진흥청에서 주관하는 ‘2022년도 청년농업인 경쟁력제고’ 공모사업에 신청한 청년농업인 2명이 모두 공모에 선정되는 쾌거를 이뤘다고 밝혔다.

‘청년농업인 경쟁력 제고 사업’은 청년농업인들의 열정과 창의적 계획이 반영될 수 있도록 품목이나 기술요인에 제한 없이 농업 신기술, 정보통신기술(ICT)활용, 벤처, 창업, 가공, 관광 등 창의적인 아이디어가 융·복합되어 농산물의 부가가치를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 자율형 도단위 공모사업으로, 사업비는 1개소 당 5,000만원(국비45%, 군비45%, 자부담10%)을 지원한다고 했다.

해당 공모사업 대상자는 전년도에 선정되었으나 평창군에 1개소가 추가 편성되어, 평창군은 최종 2개소가 선정되었고, 올해 사업대상자로 선정된 박다정씨는 지역특산물인 당귀를 활용한 가공품 개발 사업을 계획 중에 있으며, 임성남씨는 농촌 환경에서의 6차 산업 모델 개발을 통한 워케이션 및 프로그램 개발 사업을 진행할 계획이라고 전했다.

이상명 농업기술센터소장은 “이번 공모사업을 통해 평창군 농업의 미래를 이끌어 갈 청년농업인의 무한한 가능성을 펼칠 수 있길 바라며, 미래 평창군 농업을 선도하길 바란다.”고 말했다.
