[남기환 기자=경기 북부] 남양주시는 농가에 극심한 과수화상병으로 피해가 심각해지자 올 1월부터 2월까지 추가 동계예찰로 피해를 줄이겠다고 밝혔다.

과수화상병은 사과,배 등 과수나무에서 발생하는 세균성 바이러스이며 에르위니아 아밀로보라라는 세균으로 부터 발생된다.

과수 화상병에 감염된 과수나무는 잎,꽃,가지,줄기와 과일등 많은 부위에 화상을 입은 것처럼 조직이 검게 변하는등 서서 말라 죽게 되는 병이며 이 과수 화상병이 걸린 과수나무 주변 100m이내 과수나무들은 모두 폐기해야하며 반명 발병이 시작이된 지역은 5년 가량 과수나무를 심지 못하는 극심한 피해를 남기게 된다고 밝혀져있다.

이에 남양주시는 과수 화상병의 극심한 피해를 막고자 매년2회 가량의 정기 예찰을 실실했으나 경기도 내 과수 화상병 발생율이 급격히 증가함에 따라 동계예찰을 1월부터 2월까지 추가로 진행하게 되었다고 밝혔다.

과수화상병을 더욱 예방하기 위해서 농가에서는 ▲일반 궤양 제거 및 약제 도포 작업 실시 ▲가지 잔재물 매몰 또는 폐기 ▲농작업 도구 소독(70% 알코올 또는 락스 20배 희석) 철저 ▲외부지역 작업자 관내 활동금지 ▲화상병 발생지역 묘목 구매 자제 ▲예방약제 살포 등의 사항을 지켜서 화상병 유입을 차단해야 한다.

또한, 남양주시는 연중 과수 화상병 발생 및 의심주에 대해 「농가신고제」를 운영하고 있으며, 화상병 동계방제를 위해 3월 초 약제를 사과, 배 재배 농가에 배부할 예정이라 밝혔다.
