[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월 14일, 의정부시 흥선동행정복지센터는 대한적십자사 의정부시 회룡봉사회에서 관내 홀몸어르신들에게 사랑의 수제빵 28세트를 전달해 이웃사랑을 실천했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사는 철저한 코로나19 방역을 준수한 가운데 대한적십자사 회룡봉사회 회원들이 사랑의 수제빵 28세트를 포장해, 관내 홀몸어르신 28가구에 물품전달과 안부확인을 했다고 전했다.

유정순 회장은 “코로나19 확산으로 어려운 시기이지만, 봄을 맞이해 홀로 계신 어르신들에게 조금이라도 도움이 됐으면 한다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 방식과 활동으로 자원봉사에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

유준영 흥선동 복지지원과장은 “봄을 맞이해 독거어르신들에게 봉사자분들의 따뜻한 마음이 전해지길 바란다”며 “민‧관 협력 복지사각지대 발굴‧지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 대한적십자사 회룡봉사회는 결연세대에 대한 정기적인 후원을 비롯해 저소득 취약계층을 위한 후원 물품 전달 등을 통해 지역사회 사회공헌활동에 앞장서고 있다고 했다.

[Reporter Seon-hee Jang = Northern Gyeonggi/Gangwon] On March 14, the Heungseon-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Uijeongbu City announced that the Korean Red Cross delivered 28 sets of homemade bread of love to the elderly at the Hoeryong Volunteer Association in Uijeongbu City to practice love for their neighbors.

According to the event, members of the Hoeryong Volunteer Society of the Korean Red Cross Society packed 28 sets of homemade bread of love and delivered goods and checked their safety to 28 single elderly households in the hall while strictly observing the COVID-19 quarantine.

Chairman Yoo Jung-soon said, “It is a difficult time due to the spread of Corona 19, but I hope that I will be of some help to the elderly who are alone in spring.

Heungseon-dong Welfare Support Division Director Yoo Jun-young said, “I hope that the warm hearts of the volunteers will be conveyed to the elderly living alone in spring.

Meanwhile, the Hoeryong Volunteer Society of the Korean Red Cross said that it is taking the lead in social contribution activities in the local community by providing regular support to related generations and the delivery of sponsored items for the low-income and vulnerable groups.
