[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 27일부터 28일까지 이틀 동안 가평군 설악면 새마을부녀회는 회원 25명이 참여한 가운데 설악면사무소 내 (구)소방서 사옥에서 사랑의 김장나누기 행사를 실시하였다고 밝혔다.

본 행사는 한국수력원자력(주) 청평수력발전소의 후원을 받아 설악면 새마을부녀회의 주관으로 펼쳐졌으며, 첫날은 배추 절이기 등 본격적인 김장을 하기에 앞서 준비 작업을 마쳤고, 둘째날은 속 재료와 버무리는 작업을 실시하였으며, 이날 만들어진  김장김치 160통(200kg)가량은 관내 독거어르신, 경로당 등 소외된 이웃에게 전달되었다고 전했다.

면부녀회는 독거노인 외 사회적 관심과 배려가 필요한 취약계층에게 김치를 나눠주는 행사를 시행해 오고 있다. 이날 행사에는 청평수력발전소장과 설악면장 등 많은 분들이 이웃을 위한 사랑을 나누기 위해 자리를 빛냈다고 했다. 

박지숙 새마을부녀회장은 “추워진 날씨에도 뜻깊은 나눔 행사를 위해 새벽부터 힘써주신 부녀회원들에게 감사드리며, 우리 주변의 소외된 이웃의 따뜻한 겨울나기를 위한 행사인 만큼 보람을 느꼈으면 좋겠다 ”라고 말했다. 

또한 이범주 설악면장은 “예년보다 이른 추위와 코로나19 장기화로 어려움을 겪는 이웃이 따뜻하고 건강한 겨울을 났으면 한다.”라며 “ 앞으로도 다양한 방식의 나눔 활동을 통해 지역주민과 함께 하는 설악면이 되도록 노력하겠다.”라고 했다.

한편, 면부녀회는 평소 어려운 이웃을 위한 고추장 담그기, 추석명절 음식나누기 등 지역사회를 위한 봉사활동을 지속적으로 펼쳐왔으며 이번 김장나누기 행사를 계기로 코로나19로 잠시 주춤했던 단체 활동에 다시 한번 활력을 불어 넣었다고 전했다.
