[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 7일 의정부시는 서울 더플라자호텔에서 ‘2021 TV조선 경영대상’ 자치행정 부문 대상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

TV조선 경영대상은 과학기술정보통신부, 보건복지부, 고용노동부 등 다수의 정부 부처가 후원하며, 다양한 분야의 경영혁신을 통해 경영전략을 갖춘 기관이나 기업을 대상으로 엄정한 심사를 거쳐 시상하고 있다고 했다.

TV조선 경영대상 시상식은 행정·교육·서비스·환경 등 총 12개 부문에 대한 시상이 이뤄졌고, 자치행정 경영대상을 수상한 의정부시는 혁신적이고 차별화된 정책을 바탕으로 주민자치회 전면 실시, 협업과 소통·교육혁신·일자리 창출 정책 등에 높은 평가를 받았다고 전했다.

의정부시는 주민자치회의 성공적 정착을 위해서 동별 순회 간담회를 추진해 수렴한 주민들의 다양한 의견을 조례에 반영했으며, 풀뿌리 자치의 활성화와 민주적 참여의식을 높이기 위해 주민자치회 위원이 되고자 하는 주민들을 대상으로 주민자치학교를 운영했고, 지난 9월 14개 동 전체를 대상으로 주민자치회를 출범시키며 475명의 주민자치회 위원을 위촉해 진정한 주민주권 실현의 기반을 마련했다고 했다. 

한편 의정부시는 기초자치단체 최초로 상설 연구조직인 의정부시 행정혁신위원회를 구성 운영해 새로운 행정수요에 능동적이고 효율적으로 대응할 수 있는 행정 혁신의 초석을 다졌으며, 이러한 혁신 역량을 바탕으로 지역주민을 위한 평생교육 프로그램 개발과 코로나19 확산 이후 빠르게 변하는 교육환경에 맞는 새로운 형태의 교육시스템을 구축했고, 언택트 시대의 창의교육 지원사업을 추진하는 등 코로나 시대 위기극복 방안을 강구하고 있다고 했다.

아울러 민생경제 활성화와 일자리 창출을 위해 일자리 관련 조직 협력체계를 구축하고, 지난해 기초지자체로는 전국 최대 규모의 공공일자리를 창출하여 취약계층 생계안정과 지역경제 활성화에 기여했다고 전했다.

안병용 의정부시장은 “우리 시가 행정의 꽃인 자치행정 부분에 대상의 영예를 안아 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 변화와 혁신, 참여와 소통을 통해 희망도시 의정부의 가치를 높이기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
