[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 22일 포천동 주민자치회는 포천동 호병천을 중심으로 설맞이 대청소와 취약계층을 대상으로 떡국 떡 전달 행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 대청소에는 포천동 주민자치회원 20명과 포천동 직원 3명이 참여해 약 1톤가량의 생활 쓰레기를 수거했으며, 청소 후 취약계층 30가구에 떡국 떡을 전달했다고 했다.

박견영 회장은 “귀성객들이 깨끗하고 풍요로운 설을 맞이할 수 있도록 대청소를 기획하고 취약계층과 따뜻한 설 명절을 공유하기 위해 떡 나눔 행사를 진행했다.”면서 “회원들 간 호흡을 맞추는 첫 공식 행사였는데, 주민자치회원들의 적극적인 참여에 감사드린다.”라고 말했다.

김태석 포천동장은 “휴일임에도 불구하고 이른 아침부터 대청소 및 떡국 떡 전달 행사에 함께해 주신 포천동 주민자치회에 감사드린다.”라고 말했다.

한편 포천시에서는 올해 처음 포천동, 창수면, 일동면, 영중면 등 4개 읍면동에서 주민자치회를 시범 실시하며, 주민자치회는 읍면동 행정업무에 대한 단순 자문기구였던 기존의 주민자치위원회의 역할에서 벗어나 마을 계획 수립 등에 협의권과 심의권 등 실질적 권한과 책임을 갖고 활동하게 된다고 밝혔다.
