[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군농업기술센터는 지난 18일 제28회 세계농수산업기술상 기관단체 부문 대상을 수상하는 영광을 얻었다고 밝혔다.

제28회를 맞은 세계농수산업기술상은 세계일보가 주최하고 농림축산식품부와 해양수산부, 농촌진흥청 후원으로 우리나라의 기술개발과 소득향상을 위해 애쓰고 수고한 농·수산업인을 발굴하기 위해 시상하는 상이다.

올해는 기술개발, 수출농업, 협동영농, 기관단체, 지도기관유공 등 심사를 거쳐 총 5개 부문에서 13명의 수상자를 선정했다.

기관단체부문에 선정된 가평군농업기술센터는 지역특화작목 육성을 통한 농업활성화, 농가소득 창출를 위한 치유농업 확산, 미래농업의 주역인 청년농의 창업과 정착을 위해 힘써온 공로를 인정받았다.

이는 농업 현장 애로 해소를 위해 실용기술 개발보급에 역량을 발휘하여 소비자 요구변화에 맞춘 지속가능한 친환경 농업기반 구축과 농가소득 보전을 위한 액상미생물제와 고형미생물제를 농가에 보급하여 친환경농업 육성에 힘쓰고 있으며, 친환경 농업을 이끌어갈 유능한 농촌인력을 양성하기 위한 클린농업대학 운영으로 농업인 평생교육체계를 확립해 가고 있다. 

또한, 천혜의 자연경관을 보유한 자라섬을 꽃테마 경관농업단지로 조성하여 개방행사 기간중 18만5천명의 관람객을 유치하여 관광가평의 이미지 제고 및 지역경제 활성화에 기여하여 수도권 제일의 관광명소로 자리잡았다.
