[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 24일 포천시는 시청 대회의실에서 ‘2021년 포천시 주민자치학교’를 개강했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육에서는 50여 명의 주민자치위원과 포천동 주민들이 참석해 풀뿌리 자치 실현을 위해 실시되는 주민자치회를 중점적으로 소개했다고 했다. 

주민자치학교는 주민 주도의 실질적 자치역량을 강화하고 주민자치에 대한 이해를 높이기 위해 마련된 자리로, 약 3주간 각 읍면동에 직접 찾아가는 방식으로 운영된다고 했다.

염일열 서정대 교수를 필두로 한국지방행정연구원 연구원, 행정안전부 주민자치 컨설턴트 등 주민자치 분야 전문가들로 강사진을 구성했다고 전했다. 

박윤국 포천시장은 “주민자치학교를 통해 포천시의 주민자치가 더욱 활성화되길 바라며 앞으로 우리 지역은 우리 스스로 만들어간다는 사명감을 갖고 지역 현안에 꾸준한 관심과 참여를 바란다.”고 말했다.
