[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 21일 세종컨벤션센터에서 고용노동부 주관 「2022년 전국 지방자치단체 일자리대상」‘지역일자리 목표 공시제 부문’ 특별상을 수상한다고 전했다.

강릉시는 고용노동부장관 표창과 함께 5,500만 원의 인센티브 사업비를 확보하여 내년 지역 일자리창출 사업에 활용하게 됐다.

일자리 목표 공시제란 지방자치단체장이 임기 중 추진할 일자리 목표와 대책을 공시하고 이듬해 실적이 높은 자치단체를 선정하여 지원하는 제도로 광역, 기초 자치단체 등 총 243개 전국자치단체를 대상으로 우수기관을 선정하고 있다. 

강릉시는 지난해 고용율 67.2%로 전국 평균(66.5%)을 상회하고 취업자 수가 2020년 112,500명에서 2021년 118,100명으로 5,600명이 늘었고, 고용보험 피보험자수도 2020년 41,092명에서 2021년 48,181명으로 7,000여 명 증가했다.

특히, 일자리 관련 조직과 인력을 확대(18년 5명 → 21년 18명)하고 일자리 전담창구인 일자리지원센터를 통해, 구인·구직 활동을 선제적으로 추진해 왔으며, 강릉시가 자체 추진한 어린이집 통학차량 등·하원 지원, 정착 프로젝트 ‘강릉살자’운영, 정규직 취직지원사업, 민간제안 일자리 사업 등 강릉형 일자리사업도 큰 성과를 냈다.
