[김준호 기자 = 삼척시] 삼척시는 관내 시멘트사, 대형 석회석광산 등 환경오염물질 배출사업장 7개소에 대하여 지난 10월 20일~27일 까지 하반기 특별점검을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 각종 환경오염 사고를 사전에 차단하고 업체의 환경개선을 위한 관심도를 높여 시민들의 안전에 기여하기 위해 실시되었다.

삼척시는 점검 결과 비산먼지 억제조치 미흡 등 위반사항 6건에 대해서는 개선명령 조치를 하였고 중간처리업 실적보고 거짓작성, 건설폐기물 보관장소 표지판 미설치, 폐기물 중간재활용 실적보고 미제출, 사업장폐기물 실적보고 미제출 등 위반사항 4건에 대해서는 과태료 행정처분을 내렸다.

이번 2002년 하반기 환경오염물질 배출사업장 특별점검 행정처분에서 비산먼지로 개선명령을 받은 곳은 (주)포스코건설, 쌍용씨앤이(주)삼척사업소, 쌍용씨앤이(주)신기사업소, (주)건백산업, 삼표자원개발(주), (주)삼표시멘트 이다.

또한, (주)건백산업은 중간처리업 실적보고 거짓작성(50만 원), 건설폐기물 보관장소 표지판 미설치(2백만 원), 폐기물 중간재활용 실적보고 미제출(50만 원), 사업장폐기물 실적보고 미제출로 과태료 (50만 원)의 과태료 처분을 받았다.

환경오염물질 배출사업장 특별점검에서 비산먼지로 개선명령을 받은 곳은 11월2일~11월30일까지 개선 명령을 완료해야 하며, (주)건백산업은 4건의 위반사항에 대해 과태료 처분을 받았다.

삼척시 관계자에 따르면 "(주)건백산업은 과거에도 환경오염물질 배출 관련 행정처분을 다수 받은 바 있으며, 과태료 납부 이후에도 주기적으로 이행 여부를 확인 할 계획이다."라고 말했다.
