[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 13일 포천시는 집무실에서 2022년 적십자 특별회비를 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이날 전달식은 대한적십자사의 모금운동과 구호활동에 대한 시민들의 관심을 제고하고 코로나19로 어려운 상황에서도 어려운 이웃을 위해 특별모금 활동을 전개하는 대한적십자사에 감사의 마음을 전하기 위해 마련됐으며, 대한적십자사 경기도지사를 비롯해 대한적십자사 포천지구협의회 회장 등 대한적십자사 포천지구협의회 회원 3명도 함께 참석했다고 했다.

박윤국 시장은 “어려운 이웃을 위해 봉사하며 인도적 구호 활동에 열의를 다하는 포천시 적십자봉사회의 안정적 사업추진 환경 조성을 위한 적십자회관 건립과 접경지역인 포천시에 상징성을 부여할 수 있는 적십자병원 설립이 필요한 상황”이라며 적십자 활동에 대한 지속적인 지원의 중요성을 강조했다. 

한편, 대한적십자사봉사회 포천지구협의회는 단위봉사회에서 493명의 봉사원이 활동하고 있으며, 재난·재해 구호활동, 보건안전교육, 현혈운동 등을 펼치고 있다고 전했다.
