[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시가 12일 시청 2층 회의실에서 민선7기 결산 및 민선8기 주요업무계획 보고회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 보고회는 민선7기 4년간의 주요 성과와 아쉬운 점을 살펴보고, 민선8기 출범에 따른 시 발전방안과 미진분야에 대한 대응 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

지휘부 및 실과소동장 등이 참석한 가운데 열리는 보고회에서는 소관 부서별 민선7기 총평, 주요성과, 공약 및 지시사항 추진결과 등 4년간의 민선7기를 결산하고, 민선8기 미래 성장동력과 지역경제 활력 제고, 지방소멸 위기대응 등 부서운영 추진방향을 담은 신규시책과 주요 현안사업을 해당 부서장이 설명했다.

심규언 동해시장은 “민선6기와 7기가 시정의 기반을 다지고 도약을 위한 준비단계였다면 민선8기는 더 좋은 동해, 시민의 삶이 더 행복한 동해를 마무리해야 할 시기”라며, “새로운 4년의 출발점에 서 있는 지금 ‘특화 관광도시 조성’과 ‘북방경제 산업물류 거점도시 도약’ 등 동해의 가치를 더 높게 드높이고 시민의 행복을 더 크게 가꾸기 위해 시민과 약속한 사항이 반드시 이루어질 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
