양주시는 관내 단독주택, 상가 등에서 투명페트병 별도 분리배출이 원활히 이뤄질 수 있도록 시민 인식 제고와 생활 속 실천 유도를 위해 안내용 전단지를 제작·배부하고 현수막 게시를 완료했으며, 이와 더불어 투명페트병 배출의 편의성 향상과 제도의 안정적인 정착을 위해 지역 내 인구밀집지역 4곳을 선정, 페트병을 수거해 재활용하는 ‘페트병 회수 로봇’을 설치해 시범 운영할 계획이라고 전했다.

관내 공동·단독주택과 상가에서 투명페트병을 배출할 시에는 내용물을 전부 제거한 뒤 라벨을 제거하고 페트병을 납작하게 압축한 후 뚜껑을 닫아 배출하면 되며, 별도 분리된 투명페트병은 매주 화요일 일몰 후에 주거지 근처 페트병 전용 수거함이나 내부가 보이는 투명 봉투에 담아 배출하면 된다고 했다.
