앞서 원주시는 지난해 화재에 취약한 기초생계수급가구 등 2,500세대에 대한 지원을 마쳤으며, 오는 2024년까지 총 20,000여 세대에 주택용 소방시설을 지원할 계획이라고 했다.

내년에는 올해 전수조사 결과를 토대로 미설치 세대에 대한 조속한 지원과 더불어 상반기에 읍면동 행정복지센터를 통해 신청을 받아 추가 지원할 예정이라고 했다.

안명호 안전총괄과장은 “앞으로도 화재로부터 시민의 생명을 보호하고 재산 피해를 최소화할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
