[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 9월 19일부터 9월30일까지 가평군은 경기도와 합동으로 국민건강증진 및 간접흡연의 폐해 예방을 위해 청사, 휴게음식점, PC방 등 공중이용시설을 대상으로 합동 금연지도·단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

군은 금연지도원과 금연담당자로 구성한 금연점검반을 투입해 도와 합동하여 금연구역에서의 시설기준 이행상태를 점검하고 흡연행위에 대한 감시와 계도활동을 할 예정이며 ‘합동 공중이용 시설 금연지도·단속’에 대한 자세한 내용은 가평군보건소 건강증진팀으로 문의하면 된다. 

음식점 등 공중이용시설의 소유자, 점유자, 관리자는 건강증진법 제9조 4항에 따라 이용자가 잘 볼 수 있도록 건물 및 업소 출입구 등 주요 위치에 시설 전체가 금연임을 알리는 표지판을 달거나 스티커를 부착해야하며, 금연구역 지정의무를 이행하지 않은 관리자의 경우 시정명령 위반으로 1차 170만원, 2차 330만원, 3차 500만원의 과태료가 부과되며 금연구역에서 흡연할 경우 흡연자는 과태료 10만원이 부과된다.

보건소 관계자는 “이번 합동 금연지도·단속을 통해 흡연으로 인한 폐해를 예방 하고 지역사회 내 금연문화가 정착되기를 기대해본다.”고 말했다.
