[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시는 지난 17일, 도로 위 안전을 위협하는 화물자동차 판스프링 불법 개조 등에 대해 유관기관 합동단속을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

판스프링은 노면 충격을 흡수하기 위해 완충 장치로 차량 하부에 설치되는 부품이지만 노후된 경우 이를 분리하고 절단해 화물자동차의 적재화물을 고정하기 위한 용도로 불법 개조하면서 낙하 사고에 따른 인명·재산 피해가 늘어나고 있다.

이에 시는 양주경찰서, 고속도로순찰대, 한국교통안전공단 경기북부본부 등과 합동으로 화물차 적재함에 설치한 판스프링 낙하로 인해 발생하는 안전사고를 예방하고 시민 불안을 가중시키는 화물차 판스프링 불법 개조 등 안전기준 위반행위를 근절하기 위해  집중 단속에 나섰다.
