[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 자동차의 안전운행을 저해하는 불법 튜닝 자동차 및 이륜자동차에 대해 지난 10월 20일부터 11월 3일까지 한국교통안전공단 경기북부본부 및 가평경찰서 등 7개 기관 20여명이 참여한 가운데 합동단속을 실시했다고 전했다.

이번 단속은 대형버스 및 화물차 통행이 빈번한 가평휴게소 및 청평과적검문소에서 실시했으며 불법튜닝 자동차 및 이륜자동차 총 67대를 점검하여 이중 25건의 자동차 안전기준 위반사항을 적발하였다.

적발사항에 대한 조치내용을 보면 물품적재장치 철구조물 임의설치 등 2건은 사법기관에 조치를 의뢰하고, 싸인보드 및 경광등 임의 설치차량 3건에 대하여는 차량등록지 관할 기관에 원상복구등을 요청했으며, 조향장치 임의 변경 및 소음기를 불법 튜닝한 이륜차 6대에 대해서도 원상복구을 명령했다.

가평군 교통과 관계자는 "앞으로도 불법튜닝 자동차에 대한 지속적인 단속을 실시하여 운전자들의 자동차안전관리에 대한 경각심을 촉구할 예정이다."라고 밝혔다.
