[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시는 환경오염 취약시기인 추석 연휴를 맞아 환경오염물질 불법배출 행위를 사전에 차단하기 위한 특별단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 단속은 오는 9일부터 9월 12일까지 실시하며 속초해양산업단지 주변과 쌍천, 청초천 등 취약지역 위주로 폐수 무단방류 등의 불법배출 행위를 집중 감시한다.

속초시는 홍보계도·단속 및 순찰·상황실 운영 등 2단계로 나누어 단속을 실시하며 단속 결과 고의ᐧ상습적 위반업소는 고발 조치와 행정처분을 병행하고 사후관리를 강화할 예정이다.

속초시 관계자는“추석 연휴기간은 담당 공무원 등의 부재 등으로 환경관리에 취약해질 수 있는 시기이므로 불법 환경오염행위가 발생하지 않도록 상시 환경감시체계를 구축해 시민이 안심하고 즐거운 추석 연휴를 보낼 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
