[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 21일 의정부시 흥선동 행정복지센터는 의정부공업고등학교 선생님과 도움반 학생들이 의정부시 100일간 사랑릴레이 배턴 잇기 일환으로 사랑의 김장김치를 흥선동 저소득 홀몸어르신 27가구에게 전달했다고 밝혔다.

봉사에 참여한 선생님은 “학생들과 함께 직접 담근 김장김치가 겨울철 추운날씨와 코로나19 장기화로 힘든 시기를 겪고 있는 홀몸어르신들에게 조금이나마 따뜻한 마음이 전달될 수 있기를 소망한다”고 말했다. 

유준영 흥선동 복지지원과장은 “연말을 맞이해 곳곳에서 이웃 사랑의 마음으로 100일간 사랑릴레이 배턴 잇기가 계속되고 있으며, 도움을 주신 의정부공업고등학교 선생님과 도움반 학생들에게 감사드린다 ”고 전했다.

한편 의정부공업고등학교는 경기 북부지역에서 유일한 순수 공업계 학교로서 현장중심의 진로교육과 특색있는 교육과정으로 실력과 인성을 겸비한 인재양성을 위해 총력을 기울이고 있다고 밝혔다.
